I am medical specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy, as well as psychotherapist and supervisor with a cognitive behavioural background and, especially, schema therapist.
Since 2014, I am ISST trainer and training director in Vienna, and from May 2015 to October 2016 I was Vice President of the ISST and as such involved in the organisation of the INSPIRE 2016 conference in Vienna.
My research career started in 2001 at the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy of the Medical University Vienna, initially with a major focus on psychiatric genetics and later on being principal investigator of several grant funded research projects. I was awarded my Viena Docendi (“Habilitation”) in 2012.
Since 2013, I am Medical Director of an ambulant psychiatric rehabilitation clinics (“BBRZ-Med”) in Vienna and as such broadened my research focus to psychotherapy research. We currently investigate the effectiveness of group schema therapy as compared to cognitive behavioural therapy (in publication), as well as schemas and modes in chronic depression and anxiety disorders (in publication), being awarded the “Young Investigator Award 2018 for Applied Relevance of Research” at the INSPIRE 2018 conference.
Due to my passion about both schema therapy and research, I would be pleased to serve as Scientific Coordinator and work on the further dissemination of schema therapy in academic and professional communities.
