Fine Tuning Experiential Skills

Dates: Thursday - Friday, June 22-23, 2023

Trainer: Dr. Kirsty Gillings

Workshop Content:

The success of experiential techniques relies upon providing the optimal corrective emotional experience. Participants will learn skills to enhance emotional attunement and increase the specificity of their interventions. The management of difficult and challenging situations typically observed in clinical contexts will be covered. Therapist pitfalls that interfere with the ability to bring about emotional change will be explored. The workshop will utilise live demonstrations and imagery re-scripting and chairwork video teaching resources, allowing participants the opportunity for practical experience and guidance. Depending on the size of the group, there may be opportunities for ‘live’ supervision of difficult cases with role play and to tailor the workshop to the specific needs of the training group.
