Dr Gitta Jacob is a clinical psychologist and CBT and Schema Therapist and supervisor with a PhD from the University of Freiburg. Gitta works as a therapist with Veovita Health, Hamburg. She also develops and leads clinical programmes for the GAIA Group, Hamburg, a pioneer since 2001 in the development of digital therapeutic software. The company’s objective is to offer modern, integrated and cost-effective treatment for people with different mental disorders.

Before joining GAIA Gitta worked as a clinician and research fellow at the University Medical Center of the University of Freiburg. Gitta’s research interests are both in the more basic mechanisms of psychopathology and the development and evaluation of innovative treatments in severe mental disorders. She has received funding for her research from several national and international organizations and published more than 100 clinical and research papers, chapters and books. She is a co-author of ‘Breaking Negative Thinking Patterns’ (2015) and ‘Schema Therapy in Practice: An Introductory Guide to the Schema Mode Approach’ (2012). Gitta was formerly Vice- President of the International Society of Schema Therapy.

The number of places is limited to 30 and the workshop is intended for qualified professionals who have already attended at least 2 days of introduction to Schema Therapy and are using elements of ST in their work. *For details of parking on the St Patrick’s site, overnight accommodation on the All Hallows college campus nearby, etc, please see www.dcu.ie Buses 11, 16, 33, 41, 41B and 41C pass the front entrance of St Patrick’s. The Drumcondra commuter rail station is about 850 yards from DCU/St Patrick’s. For those travelling via the city centre the morning timetable is not that convenient, but from 5.14 pm to 5.50 pm 5 trains travel to Connolly Stn and 3 of these onwards to Pearse Stn.
