About
Dr Kimberley Cunial is the Director and Principal Psychologist at Spring Psychology. She holds specialist endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist as well as an Educational & Developmental Psychologist; and is a Registered Teacher with experience teaching in Australia and internationally. Kimberley is also an approved supervisor with the Australian Board of Psychology, providing supervision to provisionally registered psychologists, psychologists at all stages of their career, as well as registrars working towards specialist endorsement with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Kimberley has well over 20 years of experience across hospital, community, university, school, and private practice settings. She enjoys research and writing, which has involved co-authoring two editions of a developmental psychology textbook and publishing a number of scholarly journal articles. Kimberley has also been interviewed by the media on topics particularly relevant to families as well as children and adolescents.

Kimberley works with all ages across the lifespan, including very young children through to the elderly, and a variety of presentations, drawing on multiple therapeutic approaches that may best fit with each client’s unique journey and goals. She is particularly passionate about taking an attachment-informed lens to all of her work. Kimberley enjoys working with a wide range of client needs, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, parenting, relationship difficulties, interpersonal skills, adjustment, grief, trauma, and self-esteem. Kimberley is particularly passionate about neurodiversity and especially Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (the focus of her PhD research and associated publications), and she does a lot of work in this space. She enjoys taking a systemic approach, collaborating with families as well as other stakeholders in health settings, schools, universities and workplaces (where requested by the client), to help facilitate positive supports and outcomes. Kimberley’s work also includes assessments, supervision, and training (including parenting courses offered in a tailored and neuro-affirming manner).

Kimberley takes a warm, empathic, and collaborative approach. Kimberley is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and a Fellow of both the College of Clinical Psychologists and the College of Educational & Developmental Psychologists. She is also a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists, the Australian Clinical Psychology Association, the Australian Educational and Developmental Psychology Association, the Australasian ADHD Professionals Association, and the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy.
